Kym Sims began her career as a background vocalist at Motown Records and was featured as an advertising jingle singer for McDonald's, Double Mint Gum & Shasta.  Soon she was breaking into the pop/dance market with her massive hits, 'Take My Advice’ which reached #13 and 'Too Blind To See It,' which peaked at #5 and spent 12 weeks on the U.K. charts.   In the States, it peaked at #5 and prompted an appearance on Club MTV, which brought 'Too Blind To See It’ to the mainstream and was soon recognized as the first true crossover for a Chicago produced record.    

 

Kym's full length album entitled, 'Too Blind To See It' peaked at #39 in the U.K. Album Chart. Kym's catalog includes a string of pop/dance hits including, 'Take My Advice' (1992) which quickly became another club hit and reached #13 U.K/#5 U.S., 'A Little Bit More' (1992) - #30 U.K., 'I Must Be Free' (1994) - #6 U.S./#78 U.K and 'We Gotta Love' (1996) #9 U.S./#58 U.K.. 

 

Kym co-wrote for other artists, including, CeCe Peniston's biggest hit, 'Keep On Walkin' (#1 U.S. Dance/#15 in Hot 100), Tene Williams, 'Good Morning' and Jamie Loring's, 'Crazy.'  She would also appear as backing vocals for Jamie Principle's, 'Taste My Love' (1992), Larry Heard a.k.a Mr. Fingers, 'On A Corner Called Jazz' (1992) and Keith Nunnally, 'Seasons Of Love' (1991).       

 

2013 would kick off a collection dance singles beginning with a collaboration with longtime friend & Grammy Award Winning Producer, Maurice Joshua called  'Good Morning.'  Other releases include, 'When U Look,'  'Take My Advice' (The 2015 Remixes), 'Move Your Feet,' 'Ain't Havin It,' 'Pit Of My Heart' and 'Wit My Life.'   

 

In 2016, Kym released the tribute single, 'Deep In The City' on her own label, DIVADOWN RECORDS with an array of remixers including, Paul Goodyear, Leo Frappier, Tweaka Turner, Joe Smooth & Craig Loftis, Louie Gomez & Melo Blanco.  'Deep In The City' paid homage to Frankie Knuckles, Chicago and the 'legend's that paved the way for House Music.  'Deep In The City' was revered as Kym's comeback hit & went to #1 on zipDJ and spent 16 weeks on the U.S. House Chart & Club Charts.  It was #66 in zipDJ's 2016 'TOP 100' for 2016 and it placed #38 on zipDJ's 2016 Year-End 'TOP 200' Global Dance Chart.  'Deep In The City' continued to chart for 8 weeks on Starfleet Music Pool and peaked at #2 of both the Dance & Crossover Charts.

With all the hype surrounding , 'Deep In The City,' fans were eager for more.  So Kym Sims regrouped with her G.M. Crew to continue the momentum with her follow up single, 'Turn It Up!'     Kym delivers a new look, a catchy-pop vibe mixed with her distinct soulful vocals that are sure to get everyone 'turnt' up.   A Remix Package released on June 2nd just landed the HOT SHOT DEBUT at #38 on the BILLBOARD Dance Club Chart!
